ICT IN EDUCATION

INTRODUCTION

             ICT is the Information and Communication Technology. 

             It is the technology required for information processing, the use of electronic devices, communication devices and software applications to convert, store, protect, transmit and retrieve information from anywhere, anytime.

             It comprises IT and CT. IT means Information Technology such as computer hardware and software, PDA, Tablets etc. and CT means Communication Technology such as internet facilities.

            ICT in education is teaching and learning with ICT. It is the technology which consists of electronic devices and associated human interactivity materials that enable the users to employ them for a wide range of teaching learning processes.

MEANING

            ICT in education is the mode of education that use Information and Communication Technology to support enhance and optimize the delivery of information. ICT can lead to an improved student learning and better teaching methods.

ROLE & SCOPE OF ICT IN EDUCATION / NEED OF ICT IN EDUCATION

  3. Through ICT teachers are able to create interactive classes and make the lessons more enjoyable which could improve student attendance and concentration

DISADVANTAGES

  1. Setting up the devices can be very troublesome.
  2. Too expensive to afford.
  3. Hard for teachers to use with a lack of expense using ICT tools.
