MEANING

The term BLOG is derived from another term "WEB LOG".

            Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. It is basically a journal available on web.

The activity of updating blog is BLOGGING and the person who keeps a blog is BLOGGER.

FEATURES

• It allows immediate feedback for postings which allows active participation
• Any type of content can be posted to a blog such as text, images, files, hyperlinks, audio and video content etc.
• postings are mostly arranged in a chronological order.

RSS FEEDS

It is a web feed that allows users and applications to access updates to websites in a standardized computer readable format.

TYPES OF BLOG

Educational blogs, Personal blogs, Group blogs, Press Blogs, Project Management blogs, Library blogs, Institutional blogs etc.

ROLE OF TEACHERS IN BLOG-BASED TEACHING

• Teacher acts as a facilitator.
• Acts as a moderator in discussion process to keep students in thier right track.
• They can provide absent students with necessary materials
• Teachers can provide various teaching learning resources through this platform
• They can link their classes and resources with outer world.

ROLE OF STUDENTS

• Students can post homework and other discussions on a threaded basis by adding attachments.
• They can interact with the teacher online.

HOW TO CREATE A BLOG

To create a blog follow the steps down bellow 

1. Go to blogger.com in google

2. And in the page click on CREATE YOUR BLOG button in the center of the page👇 

3. And in the next page you should sign up with your g mail account, Make sure that you have a new          g mail account created just for your blog.

4.After signing up with your g mail account you will be directed to the page where you should add your     blogs new name after typing the blog name click next.👇

5. After clicking on next the next page will be asking you to enter you blog address, Beware that your blog address should be unique from other addresses, and to know that your blog address is unique from others there will be text written under where you type the blog address.👇

6. And click next 

7. in the next page type the name 

8. And click finish 

9. Your blog is created.
